An Auburn Hills man has been charged with sexually assaulting a youth in the early 2000s, said police.

Craig Alan Miller, 50, allegedly committed the assaults at two homes in Auburn Hills, said Auburn Hills police.

The Auburn Hills Police Department said it began an investigation of criminal sexual conduct involving minors on March 22, but didn’t say what led to the probe.

Miller was subsequently arrested and charged with three counts of criminal sexual conduct in the second degree with a victim younger than 13, said the police. He was arraigned Saturday at Oakland County Circuit Court, where the magistrate entered a plea of not guilty.

Magistrate Clement Waldman set the bond at $100,000. Miller must post the full amount to be freed from jail, not 10 percent, like many defendants, said the police.

Miller, who is being held at the Oakland County Jail, is facing a charge that is punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

Police asked anyone having information about the case to contact them at (248) 364-6787.
