Michigan State Police said they found badges at a home in White Lake Township where they executed a search warrant Thursday.

Michigan State Police are investigating a 42-year-old White Lake Township man for possibly impersonating a state police trooper.

Officials said Thursday they were executing a search warrant at a home located at 9115 Maplewood Drive near Round Lake and Cedar Island roads at about 7:30 a.m.

Troopers arrested a man at the home on an outstanding civil warrant, according to authorities.

As they searched the home, troopers found Michigan State Police badges, the bullets and other illegal items, they said.

They have released a photo of the suspect and are asking anyone who may have been stopped by him to contact them at the MSP Metro South Post at (734) 287-5000.

Michigan State Police are asking anyone who has been stopped by this man to contact them.

Detectives are working to determine if the man used the badges to conduct traffic stops or gain influence by presenting himself as a state trooper.
