Rochester Hills – Oakland University inaugurated its seventh president Friday during a ceremony on campus.
Ora Hirsch Pescovitz was a pharmaceutical company executive and University of Michigan hospital leader before being named OU’s president in May 2017. She took office July 1.
Pescovitz was given a five-year contract that includes a $457,500 annual salary.
She was Eli Lilly and Company’s senior vice president and U.S. medical leader for Lilly Bio-Medicines for 2 1/2 years. Before that, Pescovitz served UM Health System from 2009-14 as the university’s first female executive vice president of medical affairs and health system CEO.
