A 69-year-old woman suffered a minor injury after crashing her sport utility vehicle into a Clawson hair salon Monday, police said.

The woman told police she was parking in front of the BoRics on west 14 Mile between Crooks and Livernois roads at about 9:25 a.m. when she accidentally stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake pedal, Clawson Police Lt. Scott Sarvello said.

Her Jeep Liberty then crashed through the business' front wall, he said.

The woman injured her shin in the crash but refused treatment from emergency medical technicians who responded to the incident, Sarvello said.

No other people were injured in the crash, he said.

Police officers cited the woman and released her, according to Sarvello.
