Pontiac – A 34-year-old Pontiac woman was formally charged Tuesday with first-degree murder and related firearms offenses in the May 11 fatal shooting of her boyfriend.

Maria Glynise Talley was arraigned Tuesday in 50th District Court in the death of William Spencer Bell, 36, of Pontiac, who was found dead on a couch in a residence they shared in the 600 block of Lydia Lane.

Talley, who phoned in the slaying, was waiting outside the address for responding deputies and paramedics. She also told them the semi-automatic handgun used in the shooting could be found inside.

Bell was pronounced dead at the scene and deputies recovered several spent shell casings.

Talley, whose next court date is May 24, is being held in the Oakland County Jail without bond. Her criminal history includes convictions for assault and larceny.
