A Commerce Township teen was arrested this week after allegedly threatening to attack classmates, Oakland County Sheriff's officials said.

A sheriff's deputy working as a liaison at Walled Lake Northern High School learned Thursday that the student had made the threat during one of his classes, investigators said in a statement.

Several classmates and two teachers reported that the 17-year-old claimed he "was going to kill other students on the last day of school," according to the release.

Sheriff's officials interviewed the youth, who "acknowledged making the threat because he got angry when other students were harassing him."

His parents told investigators he had no access to any weapons besides a BB gun, authorities said Friday.

The teen was held at the Oakland County Jail pending a Prosecutor's Office review.
