Missing Royal Oak woman found dead
A Royal Oak woman who went missing this week has been found dead, authorities said Thursday night.
Oakland County Sheriff’s officials found the remains of Holly Towery not far from where her 2003 Dodge Durango was found near Dutton and Livernois in Rochester Hills, said Royal Oak Police Lt. Keith Spencer.
An autopsy was scheduled to be performed Friday and the Oakland County Medical examiner’s office expect results of the autopsy to be ready sometime Friday afternoon.
Royal Oak police officials who were the initial agency handling her disappearance say they do not suspect foul play and that a handgun was missing from her home.
“We can confirm that her vehicle was located, that she was located deceased in the area of her vehicle,” said Lt. Keith Spencer of the Royal Oak Police Department.
Towery’s disappearance attracted much attention online, including Missing in Michigan, since her boyfriend, Allen Reinwasser, posted details on social media.
The 32-year-old mother texted him after leaving home about 6 p.m. Tuesday to say she was going to the store. She never returned, he wrote on Facebook.
The next day, Towery’s phone was found near Giddings and Fairway in Pontiac, Spencer said.
In a message to supporters Thursday night, Reinwasser said Towery would be “missed beyond words.”
“Please...love the people close to you....make sure they know you love them," he wrote. "Never say good bye without that kiss or hug or loving smile. You never know when it will be the last.”
