Police have arrested a man who they said exposed himself to a person in Ferndale.

Ferndale Police have arrested a man accused of exposing himself to a woman Sunday, officials said.

Police said they arrested the suspect Thursday evening and have submitted a request to Oakland County Prosecutor's Office to authorize charges.

The alleged incident happened at about 5:15 p.m. Sunday at a business near the corner of East Nine Mile and Paxton, according to police.

The victim told officers she had stopped at the business to see if it was open. When she arrived she saw a man sitting on some rock landscaping near the establishment's front door, police said.

The suspect spoke to the woman, told her he was a Ferndale resident and that his name was Nick.

As the woman was leaving, the man had exposed his genitals and asked "What do you think?" and invited her to watch.

She immediately left and called police, officials said.

On Monday, police released a description and a sketch of the suspect. He was described as a white male in his 20s, about 6-feet-2-inches, thinly built with thick dark hair. He was wearing a blue bandanna around his forehead, John Lennon-style glasses and a black SpongeBob SquarePants T-shirt with a Krabby Patty on it.
