Ohio man sought in Lake Orion baseball bat beating
An Ohio man is on the run after allegedly attacking a Lake Orion resident who took him in this week, police said Friday.
Investigators believe Mark David Rinier II, also known as “Prince," was stranded in the Oakland County community this week after friends abandoned him there, forcing the 41-year-old to stay with the victim until he could make arrangements.
But at about 3:45 a.m. Friday, Rinier beat the resident with a baseball bat, authorities reported.
He is described as a white male, 5-foot-11, 220 pounds, with short cropped brown hair and blue eyes and a tattoo of a pyramid on one arm.
"The suspect may approach people for money and a place to stay," officials said in a notice. "He is not believed to be armed but should be considered dangerous."
Anyone who has information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Lake Orion Police at (248) 858-4911.
