The director of one of the year's most talked about films is headed to Metro Detroit for a pair of appearances on the film's opening weekend.

Boots Riley will participate on Saturday in a pair of question-and-answer sessions following screenings of his new film, "Sorry to Bother You."

The director will appear following the 7 p.m. Saturday screening of the film at Emagine Novi and the 8:30 p.m. showing at AMC John R in Madison Heights.

Tickets for the two showings are available here.

"Sorry to Bother You" opens in local theaters on Friday. It is a raucous comedy about a telemarketer ("Atlanta's" Lakeith Stanfield) who climbs the corporate ladder, only to uncover an unseemly plot involving, well, it's best to leave the surprises in tact, Riley says.
