A Pontiac toddler who was accidentally struck by a neighbor's car earlier this week has died Friday, her father confirmed.

Eliana Culbertson, a 20-month-old girl, was hit Wednesday morning by a neighbor who was backing a vehicle out of a driveway, authorities said.

Eliana, nicknamed "Little Ellie," was rushed to the hospital and remained in critical condition until Friday. Her father, Emman Culbertson, posted an update Friday to Eliana's GoFundMe page, thanking supporters for prayers and confirming her death.

"As of today my daughter Eliana has passed away," he wrote on the crowdfunding site that had raised more than $4,000 by Friday evening out of a $20,000 goal to cover medical expenses.

The incident occurred on Wednesday in the 100 block of Warwick Drive near West Walton Boulevard and Baldwin Avenue about 8:46 a.m., Oakland County Sheriff's deputies said.

Authorities said it appeared the girl's mother was putting air into a tire of her vehicle when the child walked away and was struck. A 911 caller told police the toddler had been run over and was not breathing, police said.

The family posted that Eliana suffered severe brain damage after being hit and had been placed on life support.
