A 22-year-old man was arrested Friday afternoon in Pontiac after robbing a woman at gunpoint, stealing her prescription opioids when she was allegedly trying to buy pot, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office said.

The armed robbery took place just after 3 p.m. in the area of North Perry and Eddy Court, which is north of Woodward Ave.

The victim, a 50-year-old Pontiac woman, told police she showed up to buy pot from an acquaintance. Instead, the suspect and another man got into her car, pulled handguns, and pointed them at her, demanding Oxycodone, a painkiller that, according to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, "historically has been a popular drug of abuse among the narcotic abusing population." The woman had a prescription for the drugs.

The men then fled on foot. The victim called police.

Hours later, the sheriff's office, which is the policing agency for Pontiac, found the acquaintance in the area of LeGrande and Baldwin, and arrested him without incident.

Police are still on the lookout for the second suspect, but offered no description.
