Ohio man charged in Lake Orion beating
Authorities have arrested an Ohio man accused of assaulting a Lake Orion resident with a bat after being let into his home last month, police say.
Mark David Rinier II fled immediately after allegedly beating the homeowner on June 22, investigators said.
Teaming up with Ohio law enforcement agencies, Lake Orion officials tracked the 41-year-old to Dayton. A local fugitive apprehension task force helped take him into custody there on Thursday, police reported.
Rinier was arraigned Friday at 52/3 District Court in Rochester Hills on a charge of aggravated felonious assault, records show.
Bond was set at $25,000 and he remains lodged at the Oakland County Jail.
