Nathaniel Abraham arrested for indecent exposure
Nathaniel Abraham, one of the youngest people in Michigan to be charged with murder as an adult, has been arrested in Oakland County.
Officials with the Oakland County Sheriff's Office said Abraham, 32, was arrested Monday on an indecent exposure complaint. According to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office website, Abraham was booked and released on Monday on a $100 bond.
A preliminary investigation was prompted about 10:30 a.m. on Monday when a Pontiac woman reported a young man, shirtless and holding a basketball, approached her in her yard and inquired if she would like him to cut her lawn. The woman declined but said as she was walking away she noticed the man still looking at her as he rubbed the basketball against his chest and his genitalia were exposed out of his pants. She told deputies she ordered him off her property and he promptly left.
She phoned in a report with a description of the suspect and a deputy found him elsewhere in the neighborhood cutting a lawn. The man was placed in a patrol car and taken by the woman's home where she identified him as the man who had exposed himself.
Abraham, who has denied exposing himself to the woman, was expected to be located, picked up and formally charged with the offense, a misdemeanor which carries up to one year in jail. Authorities said the arraignment could come Tuesday or Wednesday.
Abraham was released from parole in June, according to state officials.
In 1997, Abraham, then 11, fatally shot Ronnie Greene, 18, in the head in Pontiac with a stolen .22-caliber rifle.
An Oakland County judge sentenced Abraham, who was in the sixth grade at the time, for second-degree murder as a juvenile, allowing him a chance to be released when he was 21.
Abraham was released from prison in 2007 at age 21. A year later, undercover cops caught Abraham in a curbside drug deal in Pontiac. He was carrying 254 Ecstasy pills in the trunk of his car.
He was sent back to prison to serve a 4-20 year sentence.
In 2011, Abraham, 25 at the time, was accused of assaulting two corrections officers in Adrian.
