Police: Man, 77, pointed gun in road rage incident
A 77-year-old Sterling Heights man is facing a felony charge after allegedly pointing a gun in a late-August road rage incident in Troy, police said.
The alleged assault took place on Aug. 28 around 7 a.m. on West Big Beaver, west of Livernois.
A man driving a white 2016 Audi A3 told police that when he was stopped at a red light, the suspect, who police identify as Nicolo Amico, pulled alongside him in a black 2016 Ford Escape, and pointed a gun at him.
Suspect and victim were both headed eastbound on Big Beaver, and continued their travel east into Sterling Heights.
Sterling Heights police pulled the suspect over on northbound Ryan Road, near 17 Mile, and recovered an 9 mm handgun from the Escape. During the stop, police say, the suspect admitted to unholstering the gun and pointing it at the Audi driver.
Amico is due at Troy's 52-4 District Court on Sept. 6 at 8:30 a.m. for a probable cause conference, court records show.
