Allegedly drunk driver arrested after hitting bystander at Rochester Hills lodge
A 66-year-old man is facing charges after hitting a bystander while allegedly driving drunk, Oakland County Sheriff's officials said.
Investigators said the driver was in his 2016 Ford Edge outside the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge on Livernois Road in Rochester Hills about 6:50 p.m. Sunday as a 71-year-old woman stood near the vehicle's door.
The man "accelerated the vehicle in reverse, knocking her to the ground and possibly running her over," the release said.
She was treated at Beaumont Hospital in Troy and in stable condition with serious injuries, authorities said Monday.
The driver, identified as a Troy resident, was held at the Oakland County Jail.
A search warrant was obtained for a blood sample; results were pending Tuesday, according to the Sheriff's Office.
