Police: Driver ejected in fatal crash didn't wear seat belt
A man who died after being ejected during a single-vehicle crash in Rose Township Sunday night was not wearing a seat belt, Michigan State Police said Monday.
The fatal, single-vehicle crash took place about 8:20 p.m. on the 10200 block of Milford Road in northern Oakland County's Rose Township, police said.
After hitting a guard rail, the man's SUV rolled into a swamp off the roadway. The victim was ejected from his vehicle and died from his injuries.
As of Tuesday, some 639 people had died in car crashes in Michigan in 2018, per the Michigan Department of Transportation. That's down 43 from this time last year.
