A 22-year-old Pontiac man is recovering after being shot in his mouth, back and hip Sunday afternoon, police said.

Just after 1 p.m. Sunday, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office was called to the 500 block of Kettering over shots being fired.

Police arrived to find a vehicle in the parking lot of Newman Lane Apartments with "numerous" bullet holes, and a blood trail leading to an apartment.

Witnesses told deputy sheriffs that they heard shots fired, and soon after saw a silver Chevy Impala flee the area.

The victim was treated, and his injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening, police say. But he's also been sedated, and police were still unable to interview him as of Monday morning.
