Arrest made in armed robbery at Pontiac Rite Aid
A 20-year-old Pontiac man is facing charges in an armed robbery this week at a Pontiac Rite Aid in Pontiac, Oakland County Sheriff's officials said.
A clerk called deputies about 10:20 p.m. Tuesday to report that the suspect had passed a note demanding all the money at the store in the 300 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, investigators said in a statement.
The suspect fled in a red SUV and was seen driving south on Interstate 75 in Troy, according to the release.
Troy police officers stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver. The stolen money and the note passed to the clerk were found inside, authorities reported.
During an interview, the 20-year-old told sheriff's detectives that he robbed the business and also committed a similar crime in Auburn Hills.
He was held at the Oakland County Jail.
