A Pontiac woman is facing charges for resisting and obstructing an Oakland County Sheriff's deputy at her home this week.

Responding to the 600 block of Bloomfield Avenue about 4:50 p.m. after someone reported a dog at large, the officer met with the owner and learned through the Michigan Law Enforcement Information Network that she had an aggravated assault warrant from the 50th District Court, investigators said in a statement.

The deputy approached the 26-year-old on her front porch and tried to take her into custody but she started fighting and "attempted to avoid apprehension by running inside of the residence and attempting to slam the door," the release read.

The deputy pursued the resident inside but deployed a Taser when she kept tussling, authorities reported.

After being cleared by paramedics, the woman was held at the Oakland County Jail on the outstanding warrant. Additional charges are sought for resisting and obstructing a police officer, sheriff's officials Friday.
