A 19-year-old Pontiac man was arrested after Oakland County deputies stopped three males Wednesday, one who was reported to have carried a gun onto school property, officials said Thursday.

Oakland County Sheriff's deputies were called to Pontiac High School at about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday about a man who entered the school armed with a gun, police said. Deputies arrived and were told three males were at the school, looking for a student with whom they wanted to fight.

A school security guard followed the three men as they left the building.

Deputies who were nearby on a unrelated call saw the three subjects walking on North Perry near Kenilworth, about a quarter-mile from the school.

Police said they stopped the three men and found one of them had a handgun. He was taken into custody and was being held at the Oakland County Jail pending charges. The two other males were interviewed and released, police said.
