Farmington Hills police are looking for a man in connection with an alleged stranger danger incident, officials said Tuesday.

Officers are investigating a report that a suspicion man, described as a heavy-set white male with short hair and wearing a black coat, approached a child at about 4 p.m. Monday in the area of Liberty and Middlebelt roads between Grand River and Nine Mile, police said.

The child told police the suspect was driving a white utility van, according to authorities. The susupect never exited his vehicle, but invited the child to get into his van.

Police said they have stepped up patrols in the area.
