Waterford Township police are asking the public for help to identify the vehicle that fled after striking a 15-year-old who was crossing a street Friday morning, officials said.

The crash happened at about 7:41 a.m. at Crescent Lake and Hatchery Roads, police said.

Officials said the victim properly crossed from east to west on Crescent Lake in the crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle turning south from Hatchery onto Crescent Lake.

The driver failed to stop after the crash and fled from the area.

Police and paramedics responded. Paramedics examined the student and he didn't require hospitalization, according to authorities.

The suspect's vehicle is described as a being light colored — possibly white or silver— and with four doors.
