Bloomfield Hills  — Two Flint-area women have been arrested and charged with stealing nearly $2,000 in electronics at a store while police officers were holding a "Shop with a Cop" event.

Bloomfield Township Police said the women were arrested Wednesday and were arraigned in 48th District Court on felony retail fraud charges Thursday.

The women have been identified as Dana Johnson, 18, of Flint and Keiana Wilson, 40, of Burton.

A magistrate set Johnson's bond at $250,000 and Wilson's bond at $20,000. If convicted, they each face up to five years in prison. The magistrate also scheduled their next court appearance for Jan. 3.

As of Friday, Johnson remained in custody while Wilson had been released from the Oakland County Jail on bond.

Police said officers with the Bloomfield Township, Sylvan Lake, Keego Harbor and the Orchard Lake police departments were at a Target store in the 2400 block of Telegraph Road at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday for the event, which provides Christmas presents for needy children.

During the program, store employees notified police that two women had been detained and questioned for suspicion of shoplifting, according to authorities.

Officers investigated and determined the two women had concealed about $1,900 worth of electronics on their persons and walked out of the store before employees stopped them, police said.
