Troy police seek suspect in crash that killed pedestrian

Troy police said they're searching for the suspect who struck and killed an Ann Arbor man who was on foot in a parking lot early Friday morning.

Troy — Police are asking for help to identify a suspect in a Friday morning crash that killed a pedestrian, officials said.

The crash happened at about 8:55 a.m. Friday in the north parking lot of 500 Kirts. The lot is for an office building that houses medical offices and the victim was doing some work on the vending machines inside. 

Police said J.V. Binkley, 48, of Ann Arbor, was on foot in the lot when he was struck by a black SUV. Binkley was taken to a hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

The driver is described as a man between 30 and 40 years old with a short, well-trimmed beard, according to authorities.
