1 dead after fire at Waterford Twp. home

Waterford Township — Authorities are investigating the death of a person whose body was found in a home after a fire, officials said.

Crews with the Waterford Regional Fire Department were dispatched at about 9:13 a.m. Tuesday to a residence on North Lynn for a report of smoke coming from the home, according to authorities. North Lynn is near West Huron and Telegraph.

Firefighters extinguished a smoldering fire, they said. While they were in the home, the firefighters found a deceased person.

Officials said they have not yet identified the person and they continue to investigate.
