Sex offender charged with indecent exposure at Highland Twp. park
Highland Township — A convicted sex offender from Pontiac has been charged with pulling his pants down and exposing his buttocks at Dodge Park #10 last Friday, officials said.
Brian Dean Pochron, 34, was arraigned Tuesday on an indecent exposure charge in 52-1 District Court in Novi, said Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard.
A magistrate ordered him held on a $10,000 bond and scheduled his next court date for next Wednesday. If he posts bond, he is banned from Dodge Park #10.
Officials said a township resident was at the park and saw a man standing near a pavilion in the park, which is near East Livingston and Pettibone Lake roads.
According to police, the witness saw the man pull down his pants, expose his rear and then lay across a picnic table on his stomach. The witness recorded the incident with his cell phone.
The suspect then ran to a car, covered the license plate with a T-shirt and drove away, Bouchard said.
Deputies investigated the incident and one recognized the man from a prior indecent exposure incident in the area, officials said. The suspect was located and interviewed.
During questioning, Pochron admitted exposing himself at the park and told investigators he was trying to attract a male companion and wanted to see if the witness was interested, authorities said.
Pochron has a 2003 conviction for second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a person under the age of 13, according to Bouchard. The sheriff also said Pochron was convicted of indecent exposure two years ago after he was found lying nude on a walking trail in Highland Township. He was placed on probation for the offense, which he completed in July.
