Rochester Hills — A 44-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly biting off part of another woman's ear, police said Tuesday.

The alleged attack happened at about 1:23 a.m. Tuesday at the Lake Village Apartment Complex in the 2300 block of Norfolk Drive in Rochester Hills, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies were called on a report of a woman moaning after she and another woman got into a fight in one of the apartments, officials said.

They knocked on the apartment's door, but got no response. Deputies entered the apartment after they heard a woman moaning and calling for help, according to authorities.

The deputies searched the apartment and found two partially naked women in the master bedroom. Each of the women was covered in blood and lying on the floor next to a bed, police said.

One of the women, a 48-year-old, had numerous bite marks on her face and part of her left ear had been bitten off, according to officials.

Paramedics took her to a hospital.

Deputies arrested the suspect, who appeared to be under the influence of either drugs or alcohol recovered at the scene, authorities said.

During a preliminary investigation, deputies determined the victim invited the suspect to her home. They had previously been neighbors and knew each other.

The victim also told police during the visit, the attacker made sexual advances and she rejected them. She said she went to bed and was awakened by the suspect as she removed the victim's clothing. The suspect also tried to strangle the victim and bit her several times. She allegedly told the victim she was going to kill her, according to investigators.
