Oakland County Sheriff's officials are investigating an armed robbery at a Pontiac home this week.

A 58-year-old woman told deputies she answered a knock at her back door in the 70 block of Omar about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and found four males, including three armed with long guns.

The group, which included two people the resident recognized as previous visitors, ordered her to the ground and demanded money, investigators said in a statement. After the woman gave them $500, the suspects ordered her to show them where a safe was in the house.

The woman went to the basement where her teenage grandson was and led the suspects to the safe, which held about $3,000, according to the release.

The suspects took the safe and fled in an older model Chevrolet Suburban or Avalanche toward University Drive, but one of them left behind a backpack with his ID.

Sheriff's deputies canvassed the area for the group, which they believe included a 15-year-old boy, but couldn't find them.
