Royal Oak Township — Two men were struck by a hit-and-run driver early Wednesday, according to Michigan State Police.

Troopers were called at about 4:20 a.m. to the 2000 block of Westview near Eight Mile and Wyoming to respond to a report of a car striking a pedestrian, officials said.

They found two males had been struck by a vehicle and sustained minor injuries. Both were taken to a hospital as a precaution.

Witnesses told troopers the men were hit by a black Dodge Challenger and it continued traveling south on Westview. Witnesses also told them they thought they heard gunshots being fired into the air from the vehicle.

Authorities said no one was struck by gunfire and they recovered one shell casing at the scene.
