NB I-75 at E. Holly Road reopens amid shooting investigation, state police say

Holly — Northbound Interstate 75 near East Holly Road has reopened to traffic Friday following a three-hour closure as Michigan State Police troopers investigated a shooting, officials said.

State police reopened the roadway around 3 p.m. after a noon shutdown to investigate after a male driver traveling northbound on I-75 in a Chevy four-door reported that an unknown person allegedly shot at his vehicle, striking him. The victim was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.

The victim and witnesses described the suspect vehicle as a white Audi. The exact model is not known. A suspect description was not available.

The suspect fled the freeway at E Holly Road and continued in an unknown direction, troopers from MSP's Metro North Post said on Twitter. 

Troopers searched the freeway for evidence. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Metro North Post at (248) 584-5740.
