Video: Detroit police seeking woman involved in robberies

Detroit — Police are seeking the public’s assistance in apprehending a woman who has robbed two businesses since Aug. 11.

The Detroit Police Department reports that the woman entered a Family Dollar store, located in the 13100 block of West McNichols, at about 7:16 p.m.

According to surveillance cameras, the suspect pulled out a weapon and the cashier handed over money to the woman, who fled on foot.

The suspect was also involved in a robbery at a CVS pharmacy, located in the 18500 block of Dale, at about 9:25 a.m. Wednesday. The suspect handed a note to the cashier, and then placed her hand inside her purse stating she had a gun.

The suspect threatened to shoot the cashier if he didn’t empty the cash drawer. The suspect then fled in a black SUV, license plate unknown.

The suspect is described as a black female in her 40s with a dark-brown complexion. According to police, she weighs about 130 pounds with a small build. She was wearing dark clothing and carrying a black purse.
