Detroit — A motorcyclist is dead after crashing into a car on the city’s east side Tuesday morning.

According to the Detroit Police Department, the incident occurred at about 2 a.m. in the 3400 block of Cadillac, in an area between Mack and Charlevoix.

“According to reports, the rider of the motorcycle was hot-rodding up and down the street,” Sgt. Michael Woody said. “The driver of an automobile was turning into a driveway. The victim was traveling too fast to stop and attempted to lay down the motorcycle.

“He hit his head on the pavement and then the vehicle.”

The unidentified man was conveyed to a local hospital where he died. It’s unknown if the victim was wearing a helmet.
