Southgate Police say they have located a 13-year-old girl who had been missing since late Tuesday night.

Carole Joy Shaeffer was found by Roseville police officers late Thursday unharmed. Police in her hometown of Southgate are still in the process of determining how she would up there.

Shaeffer disappeared between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. three days ago from her family's home in the 14000 block of Windermer in Southgate.

“She’s fine — she went home with her mom...,” said Southgate Police Det. Sgt. Matthew Flynn. “Someone came across her and there, they contacted the Roseville Police Department.”

Police said friends reported that Carole made statements about running away. She also packed some of her belongings, said Flynn.
