Girl, 5, grazed in neck by gunshot on Detroit’s east side
Detroit — A 5-year-old girl is recovering after being grazed in the neck by a gunshot late Sunday night on the city’s east side.
According to the Detroit Police Department, the incident occurred at about 10:50 p.m. at the intersection of Alcoy and Parkgrove in an area south of Seven Mile and west of Schoenherr.
Police said the girl was sitting in a car with her 22-year-old uncle when a black SUV pulled along side with two men inside. One man opened fire and the victim was grazed along the neck.
She was taken by her uncle to a local hospital and is expected to recover. Police are looking for the suspect vehicle described as either a GMC Trailblazer or Envoy.
