Harper Woods — An elementary school-aged girl who was reportedly sexually assaulted Wednesday afternoon by up to three suspects has been released from the hospital.

“It’s our understanding that she is now home and is doing well,” Harper Woods Police Chief James Burke said.

According to police, the incident occurred at about 5 p.m. in the 18700 block of Elkhart in an area southeast of Kelly and north of Moross.

Police said the victim was forcefully assaulted by at least one male juvenile who lives near her home.

“He was turned over to the Wayne County Juvenile Detention Center where he remains,” Burke said. “We have been interviewing two other juvenile males, but no arrests have been made and they were turned over to their parents.”
