Detroit police lieutenant hurt after suspect flees
Detroit – — Detroit police say a police lieutenant was injured while trying to stop a larceny suspect from fleeing.
Police spokesman Sgt. Michael Woody tells WWJ-AM police originally thought the lieutenant was hurt by a hit-and-run driver during a traffic stop, but that was incorrect.
Woody says the lieutenant hurt his ankle after the suspect fled Sunday. It happened about noon on the city’s west side.
