The bodies of three of four victim burned beyond recognition in a single-car crash on Interstate 96 last week have been identified, officials said Monday afternoon.

Dental records were used to identify Jermere Howard, 33, of Detroit; Kristen Johnson, 31, of Detroit and Bryant Woods, 33, according to the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office. No address was given for Woods. One male remains unidentified pending dental records, officials said.

The cause of death is pending further investigation and a toxicolgy report, officials said.

The four victims were killed around 11 p.m. Sept. 23 when police said their vehicle slammed into a retaining wall on eastbound Interstate 96 at Wyoming and then caught fire.
