A man is dead after what police say appears to be a single car crash Saturday morning along Interstate 94 in Dearborn.

A Courtesy Patrol van driver with the Michigan Department of Transportation stopped to check on a broken down vehicle on the shoulder of eastbound I-94 near Oakwood Boulevard at about 9:40 a.m. Saturday.

The courtesy patrol driver noticed the male driver of the car was unresponsive and called police. State troopers arrived shortly after and determined the driver had died.

According to police, it appears that the driver of the car was involved in a single car crash where he had a minor collision with the median wall. There were no signs of foul play or evidence of a hit and run.

The investigation continues and police are awaiting autopsy results. I-94 remained open during the investigation Saturday morning.
