Detroit — Prosecutors have charged a 24-year-old Detroit man in connection with last week’s shooting of a 3-year-old girl on the city’s east side.

Donnie Everett faces charges of first-degree murder, five counts of assault with intent to murder, and being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office. He is scheduled to be arraigned at 2:30 p.m. Monday in 36th District Court.

Amiracle Williams died Thursday after being struck in the chest by a bullet — a tragedy that police believe may be linked to gang activity, according to police. Williams’ mother and father and a 17-year-old were each wounded in the incident on Mogul and Hayes at about 4:30 p.m. as well.

Thursday’s shooting apparently stemmed from an incident that began earlier in the day, police said.
