A Detroit man faces charges in the stabbing of his girlfriend’s 12-year-old relative last week, Plymouth Township police said.

Michael Angelo Rivera, 23, was arraigned Sunday on four counts of conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder and felonious assault. Bond was set at $1 million.

Township police found the 12-year-old about 2 a.m. Friday with a neck wound at a west-side home.

He was transported to C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, where he underwent surgery. Police said he was expected to recover.

Working with the Western Wayne Criminal Response Team, investigators quickly traced and arrested Rivera as well as his girlfriend, police said.

The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office is reviewing charges for the girlfriend, whom police did not name.

Rivera pleaded not guilty. His next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 31 at 35th District Court in Plymouth Township.
