A 33-year-old Canton Township man was arraigned Friday on charges he physically abused his infant daughter.

Vincent Joel French II has been charged with two counts of first-degree child abuse, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office. He received a $500,000 cash/surety bond.

Around 5:30 a.m. Oct. 12, French’s 2-month-old daughter was taken to a local hospital and found to have a fractured femur and several healing fractured ribs. French allegedly gave his child the injuries, the prosecutor’s office said.

French faces up to 20 years in prison.

His preliminary exam is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Nov. 7 at 35th District Court in Plymouth Township.
