Harper Woods — Two people suspected of stealing a teen’s shoes at gunpoint are in police custody.

A 16-year-old called police at 3:40 p.m. Thursday to report that his shoes were taken while he walked home from school near Beaconsfield and Woodmont. He gave police a description of the suspects, who were spotted on Kelly Road shortly after the incident.

Police pursued the suspects into Detroit, where they were arrested inside an abandoned garage west of Kelly.

The suspects, an 18-year-old man and 16-year-old boy, both from Detroit, are being held on armed robbery charges.

There were no injuries during the incident.
