The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs announced Monday the license suspension of a Canton Township pharmacist.

The suspension came after Aehab A. El Madhoun pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances and one count of money laundering.

El Madhoun, who reached a plea agreement on July 15, will be sentenced on Nov. 18.

Licensing and Regulatory Affairs executed an order summarily suspending El Madhoun’s license on Oct. 16 pursuant to the public health code, which provides for the summary suspension of a health professional’s license when it is found that the public health, safety, or welfare requires emergency action.
