Detroit — Police are asking for the public's help in finding those responsible for a fatal shooting in September on the city's east side.

On Sept. 19, two men, ages 24 and 26, were talking in a van in the area of East Seven Mile and Crusade when a red minivan pulled up next to them, opened the side door and fired multiple times, according to police. The 24-year-old man died and the 26-year-old man was critically injured.

Police believe the suspect vehicle is a stolen red Chrysler minivan. Surveillance video from the day prior to the shooting shows two men in a tan or gold sedan stealing the minivan from the 8900 block of E. Jefferson. The minivan was later recovered.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detroit Police at (313) 596-2260 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
