Detroit police arrest 2 in dollar store robberies
Police have made two arrests in connection with a string of armed robberies at Family Dollar and Dollar General stores in Detroit.
Two male suspects were taken into custody Tuesday, said Officer Adam Madera, a Detroit police spokesman. He declined to provide further information on the arrests but said police are seeking additional suspects.
The suspects are accused of robbing at least a half-dozen discount stores in Detroit beginning in November. The most recent was Sunday at a Dollar General on Van Dyke near Eight Mile.
Previous robberies include the Family Dollar store in the 14000 block of Telegraph on Dec. 17, the Family Dollar in the 19800 block of Joy on Dec. 11 and the Family Dollar in the 10100 block of W. Seven Mile on Nov. 16.
