Detroit — Police were on the city’s west side after a body was found in an SUV outside a home early Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred at about 12:45 a.m. at the intersection of Riverview and Fullerton, according to Sgt. Michael Woody.

“A witness stated she heard a shot fired and then heard a vehicle accident,” Woody said. “She observed a black four-door Lexus truck that had hit a pole.”

Police have not yet identified the victim, who is described as a black male in his late 30s who was shot in the head. According to police, the victim was dead at the scene.

Police are looking for a light-blue or gray minivan, make unknown, that was at the scene at the time of the shooting.
