A child who had been found alone at the Fox Theater is being reunited with his grandmother, the Detroit Police Department said Friday night.

The child, estimated to be 2 or 3 years old, was discovered at the theater earlier Friday night after a performance of “Sesame Street Live,” police said.

The child’s grandmother had brought him and 15 other children to the show and didn’t realize until bringing the group home that he was missing, police said.

The grandmother’s relationship with the other 15 children wasn’t known by police.

Ushers at the Fox Theater in downtown Detroit found the boy at 8:30 p.m., and he was being retrieved by his grandmother around midnight, police said.

The child was staying at the 3rd Precinct located at 7310 Woodward in Detroit.
