Detroit Metro shows off security dogs
The Transportation Security Administration has shown off dogs that are being used to detect explosives and explosive components at Detroit Metropolitan Airport.
The TSA uses passenger-screening canines to identify and locate potential explosive threats at security checkpoints. Authorities recently received four specially trained dogs. The TSA held a demonstration for media Thursday.
Officials say the dogs are different from other explosive-sniffing dogs that have been used at the airport and elsewhere in the past.
