One dies, three injured in Detroit house fire
A 97-year-old woman died and three others were injured in a house fire Friday afternoon on the city’s east side, police said.
The fire started around 2:15 p.m. in the 5900 block of Marcus.
The elderly woman was bedridden, said Detroit police officer Adam Madera.
A 40-year-old woman was able to leave the house with her two sons, ages 12 and 3. The three are at a hospital in stable condition, Madera said.
Arson investigators are on the scene trying to determine the cause of the fire, Madera said.
